Iran foresees 20% rise in non-oil exports

Iran foresees a 20 -percent rise in its non-oil exports in the current Iranian fiscal year (started on March 20), compared to the year before.

Iranian deputy industry, mining, and trade minister Mojtaba Khosrotaj, said that the goal will be achieved through boosting petrochemical, agricultural, and mineral exports, Iran's IRIB reported on March 19.

To this end, increasing cooperation with the private sector in all areas is required, he added.

Iran's non-oil exports hit a record high of $50 billion in the past Iranian fiscal year, which ended on March 20.

On March 18, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that the situation will be improved in the current year. He said Iran gained great economic achievements despite problems in the past year.

"Despite all problems arising from the sanctions, the climate change and drought, and the oil price decline, the Iranian nation gained notable achievements," Rouhani said.
"The country was also successful in political arena. We held negotiations with the neighboring countries," he added.

He also said that great achievements have been gained in agriculture and industry sectors and great services have been offered in culture and healthcare areas.
