Tehran, Iran, June 23

By Mehdi Sepahvand - Trend:
Iran has bought one of the world's most advanced oil ships to be used in oil and gas well acidizing.

Called Deep Cleaner, the ship will make Iran independent in cleaning and acidizing operations, Mehr news agency reported June 23.

The ship is equipped with permanent nitrogen units and liquid nitrogen tanks.

Using the ship, Iran has registered a new record in developing Phase 16 of the South Pars field. A report by the Iranian Oil Ministry says the progress at the phase has increased 2.5 times since the ship was used.

Iran has already constructed two medium-sized Aframax oil ships to deliver Venezuela, and the building of third Aframax class tanker continues.

However, the country doesn't have any experience in building super tankers, despite this fact that National Iranian Tanker Company (NITC) is one of the biggest fleets in the region with fleet carrying capacity of over 76 million barrels of oil.
