By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Iran has filed a complaint to pursue the issue related to a drilling rig that was lost during the administration of former president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh corroborated reports about the lost drilling rig, saying that contracts for buying foreign-made drilling rigs were concluded by the former administration, Iran 's IRNA news agency reported June 23.
The current administration has always supported domestic manufacturers and has never embarked on importing drilling rigs, he said.
The Iranian parliament has announced that a drilling rig, worth $78 million, was purchased from Turkey in Iranian fiscal year 1390 (March 2011-March 2012). Iranian MP Nader Qazipour approved the report, but said that it is unknown where the drilling rig is.
