The National Iranian Oil Company and Spain’s Repsol have signed a contract on selling one million barrels of crude to the European company to be delivered in July, IRNA news agency reported June 25.
Iran’s crude export to Europe stood at 100,000 bpd under sanctions, but now it stands at 600,000 bpd.
In March, Iran’s first post-sanctions oil consignment of one million barrels was dispatched to Spain. The amount was tripled in April.
Iran’s increase of oil export to Europe has alarmed Russia to consider a discount on its Urals oil unprecedented in the past two years.
