Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanjaneh has appointed the new head of the Naftiran Intertrade Co (NICO).

Seyyed Majid Hedayatzadeh Razavi will replace Mohsen Paknejad, Mehr news agency reported.

In an early June decision, the NICO was tasked with preparing grounds for resuming crude oil swap with the Caspian Sea littoral states.

Under several oil swap agreements which went into effect since 1997, Iran received crude oil from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan in its northern port of Neka and delivered equal volume of oil to the clients of the mentioned countries through the Islamic Republic’s southern ports in the Persian Gulf for 12 years.

Bijan Namdar Zanjaneh has dismissed and appointed several officials at the oil ministry and its subsidiaries over the past couple of weeks.

Zanganeh also named oil ministry’s senior analyst Behrouz Beik Alizadeh as its new representative at the OPEC.
