Iran’s copper products export rises by 900%

Iran exported $346 million worth of refined copper and copper alloys during the first five months of current fiscal year (March 20-July 21, 2016), indicating a rise by 900 percent compared to the same period of the preceding year.

Copper products shared 1.8 percent of Iran’s total exports in terms of value in the five-month period, said the latest statistics released by Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI).

Iran's non-oil exports (including condensates) surpassed $19.1 billion during the first five months of the current fiscal year, indicating a rise by 10 percent compared to the same period of the preceding year.

Iran exported some 50.166 million tons of non-oil goods during that period which is 25.6 percent more compared with the 5-month period of preceding year.

Petroleum gases and liquefied gas hydrocarbons worth $3.6 billion (72 percent more year-on-year), condensates worth $3.27 billion (9 percent fall), light oils and products (except for gasoline) worth $586 million (101 percent increase), steel and iron products worth $465 million (7 percent increase), grid polyethylene film worth $371 million (26 percent fall), methanol worth $358 million (8.5 percent fall), copper products worth $346 million (900 percent rise) and tar worth $337 million (42 percent decrease) topped the list of Iran's exported non-oil goods.

The average price for each ton of Iran's non-oil goods in the mentioned period was around $381, which is 12 percent less than in the previous year.
