Germany to form Iran chamber to remove banking obstacles

The German government plans to create a chamber at its Economy Ministry with an aim to develop banking and financial ties with Iran.

Germany’s Federal Minister of Transport and Digital Infrastructure Alexander Dobrindt has said the chamber will make efforts to remove obstacles to investment and implementation of large contracts in Iran, IRIB reported Oct. 24.

Addressing a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Akhoundi in Tehran, the German minister said his country is interested in normalizing ties with the Islamic Republic.

Therefore the German government will organize the chamber for developing banking and financial ties with Iran, he added.

The sides signed six memorandums of understanding for expansion of cooperation in transport sector Oct. 23.
