Are Iranians interested in locally produced web content?

Some 45 percent of Iranian internet users access locally produced web content, an Iranian official said.

Amirhossein Davaei, an Iranian deputy ICT minister, said his ministry pushes to produce more domestic web content, ISNA news agency reported Nov. 2.

According to the official, Iranian ICT ministry plans to increase the locally produced web content to 80 percent by 2020.

More than 13.479 million households had access to internet in the Islamic Republic over the last Iranian calendar year (ended March 20).

According to the latest statistics released by the Statistical Centre of Iran (SCI), 55 percent of Iranians accessed internet in the mentioned period.

Some 13.938 million household out of 24.299 million had a computer (desktop, laptop, or tablet) at home. Over eight million (33 percent) households did not have a computer at home over the last year.
