By Farhad Daneshvar – Trend:

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi has dismissed a recent allegation by the US government suggesting that three members of al-Qaeda are living in Iran.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran does not have any information on these individuals’ presence on its soil,” IRNA news agency quoted him as saying.

Iran has always announced its firm intention in fight against terrorism, he added.

The official further noted that his country has taken essential measures in fight against terrorism.

The US on July 20 blacklisted three members of al-Qaeda allegedly living in Iran.

The report claimed that that the al-Qaeda members living in Iran had helped the militant group on the battlefield, with finance and logistics, and in mediating with Iranian authorities.
