An official of the Azeriqaz Yasamal District Gas Exploitation Department was arrested for taking bribes.
Allahverdiyev Abulfat, the head of the industrial group of the Azeriqaz Yasamal gas exploitation department, and the chief of the service on industrial facilities, took bribes worth 350 manat from Shakhnazarov Zakir from May to December 2009 for providing an uninterrupted supply og gas to his bakery. He created favorable conditions for business activity, the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office said.
Using his powers, Allahverdiyev took 2,400 manat from Zakir Shakhnazarov in December 2009.
He is charged on article 311.1 (reception by official personally or through intermediary of a bribe as money, securities, other property or benefits of property nature on actions (inaction) for the benefit of the briber or person represented by him, if such actions (inaction) are included into service powers of the official or it by virtue of official position can promote such actions (inaction), as well as for the general protection or indifference on service) and 312.1.1 (the presentation of a bribe to official personally or through the intermediary) of the criminal code.
