Azerbaijani Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Iran Javanshir Akhundov was summoned to the Iranian Foreign Ministry on Monday, official website of the Iranian television reported.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi discussed with Akhundov the recent situation in bilateral relations and expressed protest against 'disrespect to religious values' by Azerbaijan.
Ambassador Akhundov has confirmed to Trend summons to the Iranian embassy, but didn't reveal details of the meeting.
