Baku, Azerbaijan, Dec.2
By Abbas Akhundov - Trend:

It is necessary to investigate any event occurring in a particular country. Such events can occur in any country where some 100,000 Azerbaijanis live. Nobody is immune from this factor, chairman of Azerbaijani State Committee for Work with Diaspora Nazim Ibrahimov told Trend on Dec.2 commenting on several prejudicial facts with regard to Azerbaijanis residing in Ukraine.

The spread of information about the emergence of ethnic conflicts in the country is inadequate, the head of state committee.

"We condemned the assessment of the processes in Ukraine at the level of ethnic conflicts. I believe that the print media has agreed with our opinion and have already begun objective coverage of this issue on their pages. This will further lead to the fact that the Azerbaijanis residing in this country will not be faced with certain problems," Ibrahimov said.

It is unlawful to pose any incident related to one or another Azerbaijani as an ethnic conflict, according to Ibrahimov.

"By spreading this kind of information each day, we make matters worse for Azerbaijanis living abroad. We expressed our attitude to the processes related not only to Azerbaijanis in Russia, but also to other migrants in this country. I believe that this issue will be resolved in the near future. Our main task is to protect the rights of Azerbaijanis living abroad," the head of the state committee said.
