A new ambassador of Norway to Azerbaijan has been appointed, the embassy of Norway told Trend August 21.
Bård Ivar Svendsen has been appointed ambassador, the embassy said.
Earlier, Svendsen worked in the Foreign Ministry of Norway, as well as the country's embassies in Latvia and Russia.
Earlier, Erling Skjønsberg served as ambassador of Norway to Azerbaijan.
Diplomatic relations between Norway and Azerbaijan were established on June 5, 1992. The Norwegian embassy in Baku was opened in 1998.
