Azerbaijan has problems with only restoration of rights of refugees and IDPs: head of parliamentary commission.

"No documents adopted by the international organizations based on the reports regarding Azerbaijan reflect the issue of ensuring the rights of this people to live in their native lands," Chairperson of Azerbaijan Parliament's standing commission on human rights Rabiyyat Aslanova told in an interview with website of ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP).

Azerbaijan has problems with only restoration of the rights of refugees and IDPs, said head of parliamentary commission.

"No documents adopted by the international organizations based on the reports regarding Azerbaijan reflect the issue of ensuring the rights of this people to live in their native lands," Chairperson of Azerbaijan Parliament's standing commission on human rights Rabiyyat Aslanova told in an interview with website of ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP).  

On Nov. 17, Transparency International announced its next annual report on the level of corruption in countries. In the report, Azerbaijan ranks in the 143rd amongst 180 countries for the level of corruption.

"Speaking about the problems related to human rights in Azerbaijan, we should talk only about the restoration of the rights of refugees and internally displaced persons," Aslanova said.

"Such biased reports are not accepted by the Azerbaijani society. Instead of protecting the rights of Azerbaijani IDPs to live in their home, they even defend two hooligans," she said.

According to Aslanova, it is only a mean of pressure on Azerbaijan. "But Azerbaijan is not in a position to put pressure on it. Azerbaijan is a country proving itself in the world, and it is impossible to influence the consciousness of our citizens through similar ways," said Aslanova.

"We are not afraid of the objective criticism. Transparency International is the non-governmental organization. It has no influence. There are such reputable organizations as World Bank, IMF, Gallup. They indicate to dynamic development and socio-economic progress in Azerbaijan. It is unacceptable that some embassies make statements on arrest of two hooligans. They have to

On November 11, Sabail district court of Baku sentenced Emin Milli to 2.5 years, Adnan Hajizadeh to two years in prison. They were accused under articles 221.2.1 (hooliganism) and 127 (intentional infliction of less serious harm to health) of the Criminal Code.
