The state register will be created in Azerbaijan's cultural sphere, the bill on "Culture", which was discussed in the Committee on Culture of the Azerbaijani Parliament, said today.
The state register system consists of different registers, catalogues, a public list of cultural property and registration systems.
"The Azerbaijani culture has been changed greatly for the past 10 years," committee chairman Nizami Jafarov said. "A specific character of the creative organizations has been changed. The success was achieved. This allows making profound changes in the legislation."
He said that the more advanced project was proposed to be discussed on the second reading.
"The law must regulate the issues of creating, preserving, reviving, developing and distributing the art and cultural possessions in the country," he said. "The law ensures the rights and freedoms in the field of culture, determines the economic and social welfare and goals and principles of the state policy in the sphere of culture."
The law also reflects the state monitoring in the cultural sphere. The monitoring was conducted to assess the current state and gaps in public policy in the field of culture, as well as to determine the directions of future policy.
