The 33rd Executive Board meeting and 27th Editorial-Technical Experts Group meeting of the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies ( OANA) ended in Ulan Bator, Mongolia, on Wednesday.

Results of the photo exhibition were announced on the last day of the event. The Japanese Agency Kyodo, Mongolian Montsame and Turkish Anadolu become the winners.
The question of the 34th Executive Board meeting and 28th Editorial-Technical Experts Group meeting remained open and will be discussed later. However, it was decided to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the OANA in Bangkok on Dec. 7-9.

The meeting also approved the application of Lebanese state agency NNA for an OANA membership.

Azerbaijan was represented at the event by Trend International News Agency and AzerTaj state news agency, which are both members of the organization.

OANA was formed on Dec.22, 1961, upon a UNESCO initiative. The OANA aims to expand and facilitate the exchange of information between Asian and Pacific countries, and to participate in eliminating the imbalance in the information exchange between developed and developing countries.

Today, the OANA brings together 40 news agencies from 33 countries. Its members include the Russian Itar-Tass, Turkish Anadolu, Japanese Kyodo News, Chinese Xinhua, Iranian IRNA, Saudi Arabian SPA, South Korean Yonhap, Pakistani PPI and APP, Kazakh Kazinform, Indonesian ANTARA and others.

Trend Agency has became a full member OANA in November 2010 at the XIV General Assembly of the Organization in Istanbul.
