Legendary footballer Diego Maradona will be the head coach of the Iranian national football team, the Iranian newspaper Akhbar-e Varzeshi reported.
Representative of former Argentinan National Team Head Coach Maradona will arrive in Tehran on Nov. 13 and hold discussions with Iranian Football Federation President Ali Kafashian.
Despite the fact that the information has not been confirmed by officials, Maradona has expressed a desire to go to Iran in the run-up to the 2010 World Cup. The legendary football player donated his jersey to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
