Tunisia confirms first two deaths of A/H1N1 flu

Tunisia confirmed the death of two men with influenza A/H1N1, the first death cases in the north African country, government-run TV channel reported on Monday.
   "We recorded the first deaths with the virus in the country. The two dead men infected with A/H1N1 suffered from serious diseases and the virus had worsened their health problems," Tunisia 7 channel quoted Monji Hamrouni, general director of basic health care center, as saying, Xinhua reported.
   Hamrouni did not give more details on the two victims, while local weekly Essabeh Elousboui reported that a man about 40 years old from the country's capital suffering from heart problems was reported dead of A/H1N1 flu on Sunday.
   Hedi Krouma, a 33-year-old sailor who suffered from liver problems, also died last week after being infected with the virus, according to the newspaper.
   Hamrouni added that vaccination is underway in the country, which will last two months or more, and ill people and those suffering from a damaged immune systems are in a priority to take the vaccine.
   Official figures showed that the number of A/H1N1 cases rose to 200 so far in the country.
   Tunisia is the first country to formally cancel pilgrimage due to the A/H1N1. It prevented its citizens from flying to Mecca in a move to avoid the spread of the virus.
