Turkey's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has welcomed the adoption of a new constitution in Tunisia Anadolu News Agency reported.
Holding up Tunisia as an example for the Middle East, MFA said in a statement Tuesday: "The completion of the constituion with common sense and nationwide dialogue once again marks the commitment of Tunisian people to democratic values and consensus culture."
Stressing the importance of the next process - parliamentary and presidential elections - the ministry reassured its support to "brother" countryTunisia's democracy and development efforts.
Tunisia's 217-member National Constituent Assembly (NCA) approved the new constitution late Sunday - the first since the ouster of autocratic President Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali three years ago.
