By Rufiz Hafizoglu - Trend:

Turkey has no intention to be neighbor with the "Islamic State", Hurriyet newspaper reported July 27 citing Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu.

Turkey's goal is deploy the moderate opposition forces of Syria in the zone freed from the "Islamic State" militants in this country, according to Davutoglu.

Although Turkey and the US have different views of IS, the sides have already agreed on a number of issues in this regard, said the prime minister.

Davutoglu said that for the present, Turkey doesn't consider holding land operations against IS militants on Syria's territory.

Turkish Parliament adopted the so-called Syrian mandate in 2012. Under this mandate, Ankara is empowered to take any measures against terror and other threats against the country, repulse the threat that can come from terrorist groups in Iraq and Syria, protect the country's interests before and after the crisis, as well as, in the case of necessity, to involve the army in the military operations in other countries (Syria and Iraq).

The mandate envisages the possibility of presence of foreign troops on the country's territory and their use at the discretion of the Turkish government when needed.

Four F16 aircraft of the Air Force of Turkey carried out strikes on the IS positions on the border with Syria on July 24, at 03:50 (UTC/GMT +3 hours).

Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that In the case of necessity, Incirlik military base can be partly used in the operations against the "Islamic State".

The president said Turkey will make every effort to prevent the activities of the terrorist organizations, adding that Turkey 's air force will continue the military operations against the IS militants.
