Union of Pro-Azerbaijani Forces not to participate in municipal elections

The Union of Pro-Azerbaijani Forces (UPF) bringing together four parties made a decision to boycott the municipal elections scheduled for October of this year, Trend reports with reference to UPF.

The head of the press-service of UPF Akif Heydarli noted that the union decided to boycott the municipal elections due to the law breaks during the parliamentary elections. About 50 candidates of UPF member-parties participated in the parliamentary elections, but couldnt get any seat. As a protest, they refused to participate in the repeat parliamentary elections.

Besides, Heydarli stressed that in relation with the summer seasons coming, UPF will not hold session. The session will be held only if the agenda includes important social-political issues. The intensive activity of the organization will start in September. The Political Council of UPF considers the issue of Vahdat party. This party announced to leave UPF. However, according to Heydarli, UPF hasnt received such request yet.
