Azerbaijan Tajikistan to Sign Agreement on Friendship and Co-operation

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend , corr S.Agayeva / Rustam Dodojanov, the Department Chief at the Foreign Ministry of Tajikistan reported that during the forthcoming visit of Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev to Tajikistan on 15-16 March, the two countries are expected to sign 5 to 7 documents on bilateral co-operation.

The major document to be signed by the President is an Agreement on co-operation between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan. This draft document is prepared for signing. The remainder of the documents is still being co-ordinated. These are draft agreements on the co-operation within culture and arts and on mutual visits, etc. The Government of Tajikistan has offered to sign an agreement on the promotion of mutual investments, evasion of dual taxation and trade and economic co-operation. Tajikistan also initiates the establishment of an intergovernmental commission on economic co-operation. This issue will be discussed during the forthcoming talks.

Dodojanov said that at the present time around 20 draft documents on co-operation in different areas are under consideration and 5 to 7 of the documents are scheduled for signature during President Aliyev's visit. The rest of the documents will be reviewed, he added.
