A trial has opened against soldiers accused of stealing the wages of their fellow servicemen.
Junior Sergeants Shamkhal Mehtiyev and Jasarat Gasimov, who are based in the Shamkir region, are being tried at the Military Heinous Crimes Court.
After the prosecutor read the indictment, the accused pleaded guilty.
They are charged with Article 331.3 (Causing Injuries of Subordinates During Military Duty) of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code.
The soldiers illegally stole the wages of their fellow servicemen from January to June 2009. Soldiers who didn't give them their money were beaten and tortured.
