A contest of journalistic work has been announced in connection with the 92-nd anniversary of the liberation of Baku by Caucasus Islamic Army, Chairman of Public Association "Graduates of Turkish universities" Chingiz Bayramov said at a press conference of Trend News Agency.

A contest of journalistic work has been announced in connection with the 92-nd anniversary of the liberation of Baku by Caucasus Islamic Army, Chairman of Public Association "Graduates of Turkish universities" Chingiz Bayramov said at a press conference of Trend Agency.

"Liberation of Baku is the event that is not limited with the geography of Azerbaijan. The event is a shining example of Turkish-Azerbaijani friendship. The association will hold a series of events. We announced a contest of journalistic work to attract more public attention to this event.

The competition will start August 5 and end September 5. The person ranking first will receive  150 manat, the second place - 100 manat, and the third place - 50 manat", Bayramov said.

After hard fighting September 15, 1918, the national army of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic and the Caucasian Islamic Army of the Ottoman State, commanded by Nuru Pasha, liberated Baku from Bolsheviks and Armenian Dashnak and British military men. The Azerbaijani government was transferred to Baku.

"After the liberation of Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan from the temporary capital of Ganja was transferred to Baku. Baku put an end to the genocide of Azerbaijani Turks by Armenians", scholar-historian Musa Gasimov said.

He said that after the Caucasian Islamic Army entered Baku, tolerance was restored.
