Baku Subway to Put into Operation Two New Trains in May

Azerbaijan, Baku, 30 April / Trend corr. E.Ismayilov / The Baku Subway administration is planning to put into operation two new trains on 10th May, Elbrus Muradov, Chief Engineer of Baku Subway, said.

"The new trains will be transported from Moscow. We will carry out all the necessary technical verifications on these trains, and are planning to put them into operation on 10 May," Muradov stated.

It is expected that the delivery of trains would be implemented in three stages.

Trains delivery will be implemented within the framework of the contract signed with the Russian Metrovagonmash OJSC in March. As per the contract, trains of 81-717.5Б and 81-714.5Б models will be delivered to Azerbaijan.

Previously, 25 trains were delivered to Baku in 2007.

Metrovagonmash has been delivering trains for Baku Subway for more than 30 years.
