Kazakhstan supports idea of Uzbekistan leader on creation of free economic zone

The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, stated that Kazakhstan supports the idea of the leader of Uzbekistan on the creation of free economic zone between the two countries. The President said today during the ceremony of presentation of credentials by the Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary Ambassadors of Spain, Cuba, Uzbekistan and Qatar in Akorda, the Kazakhstan Today reports.

"During the official visit to Kazakhstan in April 2008 the President of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov, suggested creating the zone of free trade between our countries," N. Nazarbayev added.

"We support the proposal as we always support economic integration of all countries in our region," he stated.

N. Nazarbayev concluded, "We need to use the potential of our bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation for safety and stability in Central Asia and for the future development of economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Kazakhstan and Uzbeki stan."
