As a result of 10 months, for the first time in the past few years, the budget forecasts were implemented by the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan at 89.73 percent, and this was the result of the economic situation on both global and Azerbaijani market, said the head of the SCC Aydin Aliyev during discussions over the draft 2010 Public budget at the Parliament.

"The failure to meet the budget forecasts resulted from 862 million manat or 16.5 percent decline in the volume of imports compared to the same period of last year, said Aliyev. - As a result of delay or postponement in the implementation of some construction projects, the import of ferrous and other metals declined by 18.2 percent, the tree - 3 percent.

According to Aliyev, during this period, the import of cars also reduced by 36.8 percent.

Head of the Committee connected the decline in imports also with the fact that currently most of the country's needs are provided by domestic production. Within 10 months, 131,800 tons of meat was provided at the expense of domestic production and only 13,500 tons - at the expense of imports, which means a decrease of 50 percent compared to the same period of the last year.
