Inflation hits 0.9 percent in Azerbaijan in September

Consumer prices and tariffs for services increased by 0.9 percent in Azerbaijan in September 2010 compared to the previous month, by 5,2 percent for January-September compared to the corresponding period of 2009, the State Statistics Committee said.

Food prices increased by 1.9 percent in September, industrial goods - 0,5 percent, while tariffs for services cheapened by 0,9 percent.

Food prices increased by 5.7 percent, industrial goods - 2 percent, tariffs for services - 5.8 percent compared to January-September 2009.

In September, the base consumer price index excluding prices for goods (fruits and vegetables) and services, subject to seasonal changes, and regulated by the state, compared to the previous month, increased by 1,1 percent and by 2,9 percent per year compared to January- September 2009.
