Astana will host the Seventh World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF), which will bring together 30 current and former heads of state and government, the Kazakh Industry and Trade Ministry reported.
"The forum in June is expected to be attended by about 30 current and former heads of state and foreign governments, leaders and representatives of international organizations, as well as businessmen, experts, scholars and public figures," the ministry reported.
The forum will address global economic development.
Kazakhstan became the first state in Central Asia to host the WIEF.
The WIFE was conceived as a kind of Davos Forum in the framework of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) and today serves as the annual economic summit of the OIC.
