Eurobank: Foreign direct investment inflow - catalyst for economic growth in Georgia
Georgia, Tbilisi, Nov.16 / Trend, N. Kirtskhalia /
Georgia has recovered from the double shock of the 2008 war and the global economic crisis, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said in its report published by the bank's Tbilisi Office.
Productivity grew by 6.4 per cent in 2010 and in the first half of 2011by 5 per cent. A growth in scales of production and recovery of other sectors contributed to this.
The situation in agriculture after last year's drought has improved, but still remains depressed. Inflow of direct foreign investments into Georgia is an important catalyst for economic growth in the country, Eurobank believes.
