Kazakh firm plans to release over 2500 freight gondola cars

Ekibastuz LLP Kazakhstan Rail Car Building Company plans to release 2521 freight gondola cars, an open top type of freight wagon, in 2012, the company's Director General Dyusembai Duisenov told journalists on Wednesday.

He said the company planned to release 661 gondola cars in 2011. However, due to problems with the castings supply, only five freight gondola cars were released.

Today, the company has a contract with a foreign partner for uninterrupted supply of castings and production of the cars will be resumed in March.

The LLP Kazakhstan Rail Car Building Company was established in December 2008 mainly to build freight wagons. Its first production line was commissioned on July 20, 2010.

The enterprise's production capacity is 2500 gondola cars per year and employees number 369.
