GAZ commercial vehicles to be assembled in Azerbaijan

GAZ commercial vehicles will be assembled in Azerbaijan, as is stipulated in the Memorandum of Cooperation signed by GAZ Automobile Plant Ltd and AzerMash OJSC in Baku April 23.
The document was signed in the presence of Azerbaijani Minister of Economy Shahin Mustafayev and Russian Minister of Economic Development Maksim Oreshkin, who is on a visit to Baku.
Cars will be assembled in the Hajigabul Industrial Zone.
Also, a Memorandum of cooperation between the ski resort "Shahdag" and the Association of resorts of the North Caucasus was signed during the ceremony.
Note that currently, the AzerMash Company is also a co-owner of "Khazar" car factory at Neftchala industrial area operated jointly with the Iranian Iran Khodro Company. Production of cars at this factory started this month. The factory produces cars under the brand name of "Khazar", and assemblage of a number of Peugeot and Renault models will be implemented in the future. All cars produced at the factory comply with Euro-5 standards.
The State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan stated, the trade turnover with Russia in 2017 amounted to 2.14 billion US dollars, of which about 1.5 billion dollars fell on the import of Russian products. Trade turnover between the two countries increased by 4.3 per cent compared to the previous year.
