The delegation of the joint-stock commercial bank of Uzbekistan Agrobank discussed issues of establishing cooperation in the banking and financial sector with the Israel state-owned export insurance corporation ASHRA during a visit to Israel on August 25-29, 2019, Trend reports with reference to Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Israel, negotiations were held with ASHRA, which specializes in insurance of political and commercial risks of Israeli companies implementing projects abroad, and Bank Hapoalim, one of the largest Israeli banks.
The Agrobank delegation discussed with ASHRA the issues of establishing cooperation in the banking and financial sector and the participation of the Israeli state corporation in financial support of joint business projects implemented in Uzbekistan, including in the field of agriculture.
During the meeting with Bank Hapoalim, ways to expand interbank cooperation were discussed, including the issues of attracting and using borrowed resources of the Israeli side for the practical implementation of agreements between representatives of business circles of the two countries.
In order to familiarize themselves with the technologies of microirrigation used in Israel and explore the possibilities for their widespread adoption in Uzbekistan, the Uzbek delegation also visited the agricultural production and farms of Israeli companies Gadot Agro and Metzer, which opened a joint representative office in Uzbekistan at the beginning of this year.
