Turkmenistan’s Balkan region reveals data on manufacturing high-grade flour

As many as 4,232 tons of flour of the highest grade and 8,463 tons of the first grade were manufactured at a mill complex with a grain elevator in the Balkan region of Turkmenistan from January through July 2020, Trend reports with reference to the Business Turkmenistan information portal.

In the reporting period, 16,927 tons of wheat were ground, from which 12,695 tons of flour were prepared at the complex.

The complex is designed to produce 50,000 tons of flour per year and has 6 special warehouses, each of which has conditions for storing more than 8,330 tons of grain.

As reported earlier, the country has also put into operation an enterprise for the production of high-grade flour and sunflower oil.

An enterprise for the production of premium flour and sunflower oil has been put into operation in Ashgabat.

In addition to its own production, Turkmenistan also imports flour from various countries, in particular from the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

Some 114,100 kilograms of rice were imported from the EAEU countries, namely Kazakhstan and Russia, to Turkmenistan for a total of $72,515 from January through May 2020.

The share of Kazakhstan in the total amount of imported rice was $30,166, while Russia’s share was $42,348.
