Money transfers from Azerbaijan to Russia down in 2Q2020

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept. 23

Money transfers from Azerbaijan to Russia decreased in the second quarter of 2020, Trend reports referring to the Russian 'Realnoe Vremya' website.

In accordance with the data, money transfers from Azerbaijan to Russia decreased by 60 percent.

Money was transferred to Russia from March through June 2020 by 12 percent less than in the second quarter of last year. Money transferred from Russia decreased by 14 percent.

The figures decreased from $5.5 billion to $4.8 billion and from $8.4 billion to $7.2 billion, respectively.

"The total decline in money transfers from neighboring countries amounted to 24 percent, the least amount was transferred from Tajikistan," the message said.

The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Russia from January through August 2020 amounted to $1.7 billion.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan purchased most of its products worth $1.2 billion from Russia (the share of the entire import is 18.67 percent).
