Georgia reveals volume of exported clementines

Georgia has exported 10,848 tons of clementines from August 1, 2020 through January 31, 2021 which is a 38 percent increase compared to the same period of 2019-2020, Trend reports via the Georgian Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection.

The volume of clementine exports is 23 percent more than it was in the same period of 2019-2020, while the value of exports increased by 15 percent, said the ministry.

Georgian clementines were mainly exported to Russia (22,000 tons) and to Ukraine (5,300 tons).

In addition to these countries Georgian clementines were also exported to Moldova, Turkmenistan, Belarus, Lithuania, Slovenia, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, the US, Germany and Kazakhstan.

In the same period Georgia exported 9,800 tons of apples, which is 13 times higher than in the same period of 2019-2020.

By exporting this amount of apples Georgia generated $4.2 million. The value of exports increased by $3.8 million.

Georgian apples were mainly exported to Russia (9,400 tons).

In addition, apples were exported to Kazakhstan, Hungary, Turkmenistan, Singapore and Hong Kong.
