Talks with WB for Azerbaijan's health system reformation complete

Official talks between Azeri government and the World Bank on the countrys health system upgrade design are complete, governmental officials informed Trend. According to the protocol signed after the talks, the total cost of the design is $79mln, from which WB issues $50mln on preferential terms from the funds of International Development Association (IDA). Up to $1.2mln will be issued by Japanese government and UNICEF as grants. Azeri government participation amounts $28mln.

USAID will also contribute to WBs project on improvement of primary medical services (ambulance stations).

Regarding Finance Ministrys claim for excessive expensiveness of construction of three hospitals, the protocol envisages the further talks on this matter. It comes possible to raise the number of hospitals to construct at planned $30mln.
