Italian Eni States Oil Consumption Drops in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku, 29 July / Trend / Oil consumption in Azerbaijan totalled 120,000 barrels per day in 2007, while in 2006 it totalled 126,000 barrels, Italian Eni oil and gas company said in its report World Oil & Gas-2008.

Daily oil consumption amounted to 111,000 barrels in 1996, 106,000 barrels in 1997, 111,000 barrels in 1998, 107,000 barrels in 1999, 119,000 barrels in 2000, 77,000 barrels in 2001, 74,000 barrels in 2002, 90,000 barrels in 2003, 88,000 barrels in 2004, 107,000 barrels in 2005.

United States took the first place in the world oil consumption rating - 21.2mln tons per day, while in 2006 country's consumption totalled 21.04mln.

Kazakhstan's oil consumption accounted for 146,000 barrels per day, while in 2006 it totalled 153,000 barrels per day.

Iran consumed 1.8mln barrels of oil per day in 2007 (by 82,000 more than in 2006).

Turkmenistan's oil consumption comprised 94,000 barrels in 2007, while in 2006 it was 99,000 barrels.

Russia's oil consumption totalled 2.8mln barrels in 2007, while in 2006 it was 2.9mln barrels.
