Europe may increase gas imports to 74 percent by 2030, the Eurogas report posted today on the EU's official Web site reads.

According to the report, last year 23 percent of gas imports to Europe fell to Russia, 18 percent - to Norway, nine percent - Algeria, three percent - Nigeria, two percent - Libya and 55 percent -domestic production, and 18 percent -Norway .

Based on Eurogas forecasts, the share of natural gas in the energy mix will increase by 2030 to 30 percent from the current 24 percent in Europe.

Planned investments in a number of projects for new pipelines (such as Nord Stream, South Stream, Nabucco) outside Europe will provide greater supply diversification, the report says.

According to the report, EU policy can achieve the goal of ensuring energy supplies to Europe. Eurogas considers it necessary to establish good relations with producer and transit countries.
