The amount of the Turkmen gas imported by China exceeded 2 billion cubic meters, Renmin Ribao Chinese newspaper reported.
The newspaper reports that the "China-Central Asia" pipeline put into operation Dec.15, 2009, originated from fields in Turkmenistan, passing through the central part of Uzbekistan and southern regions of Kazakhstan and ends at the Chinese border city of Horgos.
The pipeline is connected with the second branch of the gas pipeline "West-East" on the Chinese territory. Its total length is 1,833 km. The planned amount of gas is 30 billion cubic meters per year.
