Volume of oil transportation via Kazakh KazTransOil's main oil pipelines hit 13.505 million tons in January-March 2012 compared to 13.381 million tons during the same period of 2011 (a 1-percent increse), the company reported.

The cargo turnover through the main oil pipelines decreased by 687 million tons per km (8-percent decrease) in January-March 2012 compared to the same period of 2011 and amounted to 8.387 billion tons per km.

According to the company, decline in oil transportation and oil cargo turnover in January-March resulted from decrease in Russian oil supplies to Kazakh refineries and decline in oil supplies from some Kazakh oil-producing companies to KazTransOil's main pipelines.

KazTransOil is the Kazakh National Oil Transportation Company. It maintains interests of the state on oil transportation, export and import of oil and oil products.
