SOCAR is trying to stabilize extractions in old oil and gas fields to avoid a recession, a SOCAR representative told Trend.
The shallow part of the Guneshli field is developed by SOCAR through its own resources, and the deepwater section is developed with a foreign consortium under the Azeri Chirag Guneshli block.
According to the SOCAR representative, the development of fields leads to their depletion. New modern technologies are implemented in order to prevent recession and to stabilize extraction.
"Drilling new wells is also being conducted to stabilize extraction," SOCAR representative noted.
The conducted work has enabled not only the stabilization of extraction, but also an increase in Oily Rocks' output.
