The tax rate for individuals on gasoline and diesel fuel consumption for vehicles will increase by 25 UZS - from 265 to 290 UZS - in Uzbekistan from Jan.1, 2015.

The new tax rates have been approved with the decree of Uzbek President Islam Karimov 'On the forecast of key macroeconomic indicators and parameters of the state budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2015'.

Under the decree, the tax rates on the consumption of liquefied and compressed gas for vehicles will increase from 180 to 200 UZS per liter and from 200 to 220 UZS per cubic meter, respectively.

The volume of tax rate approved with the decree is the single rate throughout the country.
The price for the motor gasoline and diesel fuel is set centrally - with the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers in Uzbekistan.

The retail sale price includes the tax on consumption.

Today, the official selling price of a liter of AI-80 gasoline in Uzbekistan stands at 2,005 UZS, AI-91 - at 2,210 UZS, and AI-95 - at 2,435 UZS.

In 2013, the Uzbek government allowed the UzGazOil Ltd., a part of Uzbekneftegaz owning a large chain of filling stations in the country, to process, as an exception, the imported raw materials at the country's oil refineries on a give and take basis, and to sell a part of the received products, i.e. gasoline and diesel fuel, in the domestic market at commercial prices, which are 1.5-2 times higher than the officially established ones.

The official exchange rate on Dec. 17 is 2413.96 UZS/$1.
