Oil production volume decreases in Kazakhstan

During first four months of 2019 the volume of oil extraction in Kazakhstan decreased by 0.2 percent and equaled to 25.3 million tons, Trend reports referring to Energyprom.kz

Some 62 percent of this volume accounts for Atyrau region (15.6 million tons, annual +1 percent).

“This is the only region which increased the volume of extraction compared to the previous year,” the report said.

Furthermore, some 23.2 percent of the total extraction volume accounts for Mangystay region (5.9 million tons, -1.1 percent).

Some 7.7 percent of the total volume account for Kyzylorda region (two million tons, -7.9 percent).

In addition, the volume of oil export also decreased. In volume it decreased by 3.1 percent (16 million tons) and in value it decreased by 9.7 percent ($7.4 billion).

The main importer of Kazakhstan’s oil is Italy. The volume of exported oil to this country equaled to 4.5 million tons I the period of January- March 2019, which is 16.8 percent less than in the same period of last year.

The value of export to Italy amounted to $2.1 billion, which is 22.8 percent less than in 2018.
