AIOC Increases Oil Export in January 2007

In January 2006 the Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC), developing the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields (ACG) exported a total of 2,203mln tons of Azeri Light oil in different directions, which is by 911,000 tons more than last year.

The AIOC informed Trend that in January it did not export via the Baku-Supsa pipeline (western route) due to repair work. In January 2006, 599,000 tons of Azeri Light was transported via this route. In January 2007 AIOC exported 314,057 tons of oil via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline (northern route) by 4 tankers against 339,700 tons in January 2006.

In January 2007 a total of 271,000 tons of oil was shipped in the direction of Georgian sea port of Batumi (excluding ExxonMobil and Devon companies, which are part of AIOC) by 4 tankers against 354,000 tons in January 2006. In January 2007 a total of 1,618,600 tons of oil was exported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan main export oil pipeline by 15 tankers. Oil export in this direction was commenced in June 2006.
