The total volume of the Azerbaijani population's bank deposits made up around 8.1 billion manat ($4.8 billion) as of early April 2021, which is by 1.3 percent or 104.2 million manat ($61.3 million) less compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports on April 23 referring to the statistics report of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
About 10.3 percent of all bank deposits in the country accounted for districts, the CBA report said.
Around 49.7 percent or 4.05 billion manat ($2.4 billion) of the population’s bank deposits accounted for the national currency, the report reads.
The total volume of deposits exceeded 7.3 billion manat ($4.3 billion) in Baku, of which 3.3 billion ($1.9 billion) - in national currency (45.6 percent).
At the same time, the average annual deposit rate throughout the country as of early April 2021 amounted to 3.25 percent, in Baku – 3.11 percent.
