Azerbaijan, Baku, 16 October / corr Trend S.Babayeva / According to the data as of 1 October, this year, the number of mobile subscribes made up 5.7mln in Azerbaijan, the State Statistics Committee said. These figures exceed governmental forecasts by 500,000 subscribers.
The number of subscribers has increased by 1.2mln people since the beginning of year.
Volume of services of mobile communication increased by 34.5% over the past nine months in Azerbaijan.
Presently, three GSM-operators function in Azerbaijan. The largest operator Azercell Telecom has 3.5mln subscribers, other subscribers use services of Bakcell and Azerfon.
According to the forecasts of the government, the number of mobile subscribers can increase by 5.9mln, in 2010 - up to 6.4mln and at last in 2011 - up to 6.8mln in Azerbaijan.
