Preparation of the national classification of information and communication technologies will start in 2011, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan said.
The works will be carried out in accordance with the state program aimed at improving official statistics in Azerbaijan in 2008-2012.
According to the Ministry, at present the working group on preparation of the national classification on ICT products and services developed the first draft of the national classification on ICT services. In order to prepare the national classification on ICT products and services representatives of relevant government agencies joined the working group created under the Ministry.
Initial project of the national classification on ICT services developed in accordance with the state program and today the working group holds operations to improve the classification of the project, and bring it into line with other classifications used in the country.
After the completion, the project of classification will be coordinated with relevant agencies and submitted to the State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents for admission to state registration.
