The Consultation Company FACP, for the project Development of Financial Services realized in co-operation with the World Bank, began its work, Trend reports referring to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology of Azerbaijan. Recently the State Enterprise Azerpocht functioning under the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology of Azerbaijan signed a contract with the Consultation Company FACP at the beginning of works.
The Company will carry out work in accordance with the technical tasks. The Company's specialists should implement the works envisaged in the contract within 10 months, the same source stated.
Presently the computer techniques at the branches of the Enterprise are being renewed and the automation of the head office of Azerpocht has been completed.
The project was realized under the structure of the State Program on Development of Communication and Information Technology in Azerbaijan in 2005 to 2008. The cost of the project is estimated at $17.5 mln, with $12.25 mln at the expense of the WB and the remaining part by the Government of Azerbaijan.
Azerpocht will receive corresponding status from the National Bank of Azerbaijan to put it into practice. The Enterprise will enter the National Payment System. The Enterprise aims for services to be available in the capital this year.
