Volume of cargo available in Iranian customs and ports announced

There are more than 7 million tons of non-container products in Iranian customs and ports, according to statistics on as of April 2, Deputy Director of Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Mehrdad Jamal Arvanaghi said, Trend reports citing the IRICA.

Arvanaghi noted that of this, 4.1 million tons are essential products.

The deputy director added that furthermore, 31 ships are currently docked in Iranian ports. So, 15 ships with 446,000 tons of essential products are currently being unloaded, and 16 ships with 384,000 tons of essential products are waiting in ports for unloading. Thus, a total of 4.9 million tons of essential products are in Iranian customs and ports. These products are mainly wheat, cooking oil, soybeans, barley and corn.

“At present, there are 225,000 tons of wheat, 1.8 million tons of corn, 538,000 tons of barley, 603,000 tons of soybeans, 35,900 tons of rice, 145,000 tons of sugar, 340,000 tons of crude edible oil and 355,000 tons of oilseeds in Iranian ports,” he said.

Arvanaghi emphasized that the largest volume of essential products are available in Imam Khomeini port - 3.1 million tons, Amirabad port – 360,000 tons, Shahid Rajaee port – 249,000 tons, Noshahr port – 194,000 tons, Anzali port – 127,000 tons, Fereidoonkenar port – 37,600 tons, Astara port – 7,300 tons, Shahid Bahonar port – 951 tons, Bandar Lengeh port – 345 tons and Khorramshahr port – 68 tons.
